Exeter Responds is a non-profit organization originally started in 2008 through the Tulare County Board of Supervisors "STEP UP" Grant. This grant was utilized to educate Exeter youth of the dangers and negative actions of the gang lifestyle. Utilizing the "STEP UP" grant, we were able to keep close contact with the kids through the schools and are able to educate parents of the signs of gang influence, affiliation, and other negative influences. Originally formed from leaders in the Exeter Police Department, Exeter Unified School District, Courage to Change, and local churches; Exeter Responds has grown and welcomes participants from Pro-Youth/HEART, local businesses, and Exeter Union High School leadership clubs. We offer many programs to keep kids safe as well as promote positive actions and
provide positive role models throughout the community. With a mission to work with the youth and families of our community, Exeter Responds was formed and continues its mission to work with the at-risk youth and their families, currently without any funding.
